CEO & Founder
Poppy was founded in 2019 by Cameron Hardesty. While working at The White House in 2014, she learned floral design at The White House flower shop from her floral mentor, Laura Dowling, and, later with master florist, Gregor Lersch in Germany. Most recently, she spent four years helping scale one of the biggest floral e-commerce gifting start-ups in the country, where she was responsible for farm-direct procurement and product development.
After managing the florals for her own wedding in 2017, which was later published in Martha Stewart Weddings, she saw an opportunity to pair farm-fresh flowers, talented designers and on-trend floral designs — at an affordable price.
Manager, Business Operations
Rachel joined the Poppy team in 2019 and is involved in all facets of the business from overseeing operations to planning and executing marketing strategies. Prior to joining Poppy, Rachel managed the McCain Institute’s flagship leadership development program while pursuing her MBA from Arizona State University.
Recently married, Rachel knows first-hand the excitement and stresses that can accompany wedding planning, and she is driven to make the process easier and more fun for all Poppy customers! When she’s not in the office, Rachel makes sure to carve out time to explore DC’s expanding culinary scene.
